bfinance has appointed Gerard Parlevliet as a senior strategic advisor to support the continuing growth of bfinance’s operations in Australia.

Parlevliet would work closely with bfinance Australia director Frithjof van Zyp and senior associate Vishal Sharma to improve the firm’s services for major institutional investors in Australia. These included superannuation funds, endowments and foundations, family offices, and insurers.

He would bring over 28 years’ experience in the Australian superannuation industry, previously working as chief investment officer at Commonwealth Bank Group Super.

Parlevliet had won numerous industry awards, including the Selecting Super “Industry Service Award” in 2017 and the National Achievement Award as “Chief Investment Officer of the Year” in 2013. He had worked on a voluntary basis on various committees for the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA).

“I am pleased to be joining the bfinance team,” Parlevliet said. “Having been a client in my former role at a super fund, I have experienced first-hand the value that this firm can bring to investors.”

“I am looking forward to helping them develop and introduce innovative solutions to the rapidly changing Australian investment market.”
