Deakin University student takes out AMP adviser challenge
Deakin University student, Michael Reardon, has won the national financial planning competition, the AMP University Challenge, for scoring the most points in the technical quiz and performing strongly in the simulated client meeting.
Melbourne looked to be home to an impressive bunch of budding planners, with a student from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology placing second and a student from La Trobe finishing third.
A Western Sydney University team of two young women placed fourth and another student from RMIT placed fifth, defeating over 650 students with the best examples of a financial plan for a hypothetical client.
Commenting on adviser education standards, AMP’s head of education and capability development, Rod Edge, said raising standards in advice would make advice a more attractive and higher-status career for prospective planners.
