MLC Life Insurance is remaining in growth mode, announcing a significant expansion of its group insurance team including a number of recruits from key competitors.

MLC Life has recruited former CommInsure executive, Phil Mullins as head of Pricing and Profitability, former Suncorp executives Eliana Leopold and Ann-Maree Lynch as head of Client Solutions and Transition Experience Manager respectively, former TAL executives, Holly Nicholas and George Nafpilotis as Senior Partnership Manager and Product Innovation leader respectively, former ANZ executive Cory Deakin as Product Innovation Manager and Michele Armstrong as Pricing Analytics manager.

Commenting on the recruits, MLC Life chief customer officer, Group Insurance, Suzanne Smith said the hires reflected the company’s continued focus on the group life segment.

She said that off the back of winning group insurance tenders for Vision Super earlier this year and Energy Super in 2016, the business was continuing to evolve to meet the needs of members, superannuation funds and trustees.

“We’re thrilled to bring together a talented group of professionals as we continue our plans to innovate and grow,” Smith said.

She said MLC Life’s approach was to get closer to funds with respect to insurance and to work in partnership.
