Acadian expands investment team

Acadian Asset Management has announced that Jean-Christophe de Beaulieu would join its investment team as its new head of investments while Zhe Che joined the company last year as associate portfolio manager, research.

De Beaulieu would lead the local investment team that ran a range of long/short systematic Australian equity strategies and would have both portfolio management and research responsibilities.

He joined from State Street Global Advisors was the managing director of the active emerging market equity portfolio management team.

At the same time, Zhe would work with the local team and with Acadian’s extensive global research team to undertake research across alpha signals, risk modelling, and portfolio construction.

Acadian Australia’s chief executive, Andrew Hair said de Beaulieu had been working in the firm’s Boston office since October.

“It’s great to finally have him on the ground with us. He has a strong quantitative background, and – importantly for the ongoing development of our business in Australia – extensive experience of running a team that tailors a global systematic possess for regional and country portfolios,” Hair said.
