BetaShares opens Queensland office

BetaShares has continued its expansion with an opening of a new Queensland office, followed by a number of key appointments, which included Tamas Calderwood joining the firm as new national manager, adviser services.

Calderwood, who joined from MSCI where he was vice president, client coverage, has 20 years’ experience in financial services and would be based in Sydney.

BetaShares also hired Blair Modica in Melbourne who would be joining as a new business development manager. He has five years of experiences across financial services and worked previously in the distribution team at Macquarie Bank.

Also, Craig Higson was named as new national manager, adviser services, and he would be based in a recently opened office in Brisbane, the firm said.

He joined the firm from SuperConcepts where he was SMSF solutions manager and prior to that, he held a role of regional manager of Queensland at Russell Investments.

BetaShares’ chief executive officer, Alex Vynokur said: “The opening of the new office in Brisbane is a great milestone for the business and reflects our strong commitment to education and client services across the country.

“Our latest appointments reflect the growth of our business and increased client servicing demand across the country, and brings additional strength and experience to our already well-credentialed team.”
