WAM names new portfolio manager
Wilson Asset Management (WAM) has appointed a global fund manager and its past employee, Catriona Burns as the new lead portfolio manager for WAM Global.
She would recommence her work for WAM mid-February, the company said.
Burns began her funds management career with WAM in 2003 and left for London in 2007 to manage global equities.
WAM’s chairman, Geoff Wilson commented: “I have known Catriona for more than 14 years and she is a brilliant fund manager who knows our investment process intimately.”
“We are delighted that she will lead WAM Global and provide investors with an outstanding opportunity to gain access to diversified portfolio of undervalued international growth companies.”
The company also said that WAM Capital, WAM Leaders, WAM Microcap, WAM Research and WAM Active shareholders would receive a priority allocation in the WAM Global initial public offering that would be expected to launch in late April.
