Changes at the top of BlackRock

BlackRock Australia’s head, Will Britten, is leaving the group and making way for long-term BlackRock executive Damien Frawley to lead the business.
The company said Britten is leaving to rebalance his work and home commitments, having successfully led the first stage of the integration between BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors (BGI).
Britten has been with BlackRock for more than 12 years in various roles. Another long-term company man, Damien Frawley, has been named head of BlackRock Australia, effective immediately, having been appointed deputy head last year.
Frawley has spent more than a decade at BlackRock as well as more than a decade at BGI. Frawley has worked his way up the ranks from being a national sales manager at BGI and BlackRock to head of BlackRock’s retail business and then head of distribution for both institutional and retail markets.
He has been a member of the group’s senior strategy team since 2005 and is also on the board of BlackRock Australia.
