Another survey has confirmed that women are taking more responsibility for their investment choices.

The survey, conducted by Market Analyst Software, covered 1,000 traders and revealed while women still lagged significantly behind the number of men who trade their own investment portfolios, their numbers are definitely increasing.

The Market Analysis survey showed while 14 per cent of women were actively trading compared to 86 per cent of men, this compared to only nine per cent of women two years ago.

The survey also confirmed differences between the way men and women trade and their outlook on the market, with women tending to be more cautious than male traders.

It said that not only did women trade less frequently than men, they were more pessimistic in their assessment of the economy.

However, the survey suggested that the vast majority of respondents (92 per cent) intended to maintain or increase their trading activity during the next six months.
