Welcome to SMSF Weekly

Welcome to the inaugural issue of SMSF Weekly – a Money Management specialist update for the self-managed superannuation fund (SMSF) sector.

SMSFs are a burgeoning sector of the financial planning advice landscape. Over the past four years this sector has grown exponentially and, according to the latest Australian Prudential Regulation Authority analysis, will continue to grow strongly in the years ahead.

A Money Management survey conducted earlier this year revealed that 49 per cent of practitioners wanted more information on SMSFs. At Money Management, we recognise the importance for practitioners to stay ahead of information, regulation, trends and strategies in this important category, so in response to this interest, Money Management has launched SMSF Weekly – a weekly feed of the latest industry news, appointments, policy issues and leading planner strategies in the SMSF sector.

However, we also recognise that never before have financial planners had access to so much information within the advice space, and are bombarded daily by information updates – not just from media agencies, but from dealer groups, fund managers and researchers.

We hope this specialist weekly SMSF update will be able to cut through much of the clutter hitting planner mailboxes, becoming a highly regarded and trusted online resource for financial planners.

Money Management will also have a new dedicated section on its home page just for SMSFs. Over time, this section will not only carry the latest news and views, but strategies, research, regulation updates and taxation matters.

We hope you find this free service of use to you.
