HFA rolls out international hedge funds
Hedge Funds of Australia (HFA) has continued its roll-out of hedge funds for retail investors with the launch of a suite of three funds.
The HFA Super Cash fund, HFA Diversified Investments fund and the HFA Strategic Investments fund are all international funds using the manage the manager approach.
HFA managing director Spencer Young says similar products have been available in the US and Europe for a number of years but these are the first of their type on the Australian market.
The funds are all absolute return funds using a variety of strategies and are overseen by US based investment advisers. Lighthouse Partners LLC advises on the Super Cash and Diversified Investments funds while Hedge Funds advises on the Strategic Investments fund.
The suite of products complements HFA's Australian Blue Chip Fund which covers the Australian market and is managed by HFA.
Young says market conditions are well suited to hedge funds at the moment.
"International experience tells us that once equity markets get the staggers, investors move into absolute return funds to maintain or enhance levels of return," he says.
