Colonial First Statehas announced a further changing of the guard within its funds management operations, with Barry Henderson, the portfolio manager of the group’s Future Leaders Fund, to leave at the end of January next year.

Henderson’s departure comes at the end of his contract and after more than seven years as portfolio manager of the fund, which he took on when he joined CFS in October 1995.

His role is set to be taken on by Graeme Burke who is the portfolio manager of the group’s Developing Companies Fund.

Burke will head up the portfolio management of both funds after working with Colonial First State since 1997 in the areas of small companies, much of it alongside Henderson.

Colonial head of Australian equities Ian Harding says Burke’s move into the dual roles was natural as he had been involved in the stock selection of both funds.

CFS would appoint a senior analyst to the small companies team prior to Henderson’s departure.
