Nominations and submissions have opened for this year’s Super Fund of the Year Awards for two individual categories.

The 11th annual Super Fund of the Year Awards is an unparalleled, independent, and whole-of-market program that recognises the top superannuation funds and professionals in the sector, including super fund trustees, executives, group insurance executives, and custodians.

Run with support from principal partner MLC Life Insurance and hosted by Money Management’s sister brand Super Review, the program will culminate in a black-tie gala ceremony on Thursday, 31 October 2024, at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne. Click here to buy tickets.

There are 22 categories on offer this year, with professionals invited to submit an entry or nominate a worthy colleague in two individual categories by Wednesday, 7 August 2024.

The first – the Industry Thought Leader of the Year category – acknowledges the hard work and dedication of a thought leader who promotes growth, development and success in the superannuation sector, while proposing new and challenging ideas and initiating conversations regarding the desired direction of the industry.

The second submissions-based category is Marketer of the Year, which champions a leading marketing, PR, or communications professional who supports the superannuation sector via the provision of their services to managers and firms. They should also demonstrate that their advice has bolstered reputation, professionalism, and best practice in the superannuation space.

The awards are open to every organisation and professional who supports the Australian superannuation industry, including large institutions and funds, boutique challengers, senior executives, and rising stars.

The Best Super Fund of the Year will be determined following a vote by financial advisers. Click here to vote for your favourite super fund.

The winners of the remaining 19 categories will be determined by research partner SuperRatings. Click here to review their judging methodology.

These categories cover a broad section of the industry, including the best advice offering, digital offering, MyChoice Super, retirement offerings, and sustainable funds.

SuperRatings is a Lonsec company that provides research and ratings for and insights into the superannuation industry. The research house will add significant value to the awards program through its expertise and by conducting its comprehensive, independent research on super funds. It will also provide greater transparency and insight into the investment products and services that are being recognised at the awards.

Past winners and finalists of the Super Fund of the Year Awards have been able to set themselves apart from their competitors, strengthen their position, and unlock new career opportunities in the marketplace by elevating their personal brand.

The individual category submissions will be judged by a panel of business executives, entrepreneurs, innovators, and academics, providing peer-reviewed recognition of the capabilities of super funds as well as the professionals who are passionate about driving the industry forward.

The judging criteria for award categories are quantitative and qualitative, acknowledging growth, business development, diversity, leadership, innovation, business excellence, and contributions to Australia’s financial advice sector.

All submissions will undergo a thorough audit process, checking demographic and other information against category eligibility criteria on the information provided in the submission.

Those submissions deemed eligible against submission criteria are reviewed and assessed by a panel of Momentum Media events and editorial team members and executives, alongside industry stakeholders, where required, to determine the finalists for each category.

The number of finalists will vary for each award category.

The finalists will be announced on Monday, 9 September 2024.

Winners will be revealed at a black-tie gala ceremony on Thursday, 31 October 2024, at the Grand Hyatt, Melbourne. Click here to buy tickets and don’t miss out!
