Ascalon Capital Managers has appointed Robert Lance as head of Australia.

While managing local operations, his primary role will be to lead relationships with Ascalon’s boutique partners in Australia.

Lance is the co-founder and former chief executive of Hong Kong-based DragonBack Capital. He has more than 25 years experience in Asia Pacific markets building and leading investment banking and asset management teams.

Ascalon chief executive Chuak Chan said Lance is a strong and dynamic addition to the team at a time when the investment company continues to grow.

Recently, the business acquired a 30 per cent stake in Singapore-based alternative manager RV Capital.

Lance will be based in Sydney and report to Chan.
