PIMCO makes key global appointments

Global investment manager, PIMCO have announced two key appointments.

The firm announced today it had appointed Robin Shanahan and Peter Strelow, both managing directors, as co-chief operating officers.

It said Shanahan and Strelow would report to PIMCO’s chief executive, Emmanuel Roman.

Shanahan has been at PIMCO for 10 years and is currently the firm’s global head of human resources. Strelow has been at PIMCO for 15 years and is currently the chief administrative officer and global head, funds.

The announcement said the pair would join PIMCO’s executive office and assume the responsibilities of Jay Jacobs, PIMCO’s president and managing director, who will retire from PIMCO on 30 September, after a 19-year career with the firm.

Jacobs will continue to serve the firm as an adviser to Roman until at least September next year, and will in January join Georgetown University’s Centre for Financial Markets and Policy as a distinguished global fellow.
