ANZ Wealth has appointed a new head of sales, former BT executive Don Sillar.

The appointment has been announced by ANZ Wealth head Paul Barrett, who said Sillar would lead ANZ Wealth's distribution team and be responsible for promoting the group's products through independent, aligned and salaried financial planners.

He said the role was key to developing the group's approach to distribution and realising the cross-sell opportunities arising from the creation of the ANZ Wealth Business Unit.

Sillar, who most recently was head of broking services at E*Trade, will take up his new role on 24 October.
