National Australia Bank (NAB) has announced another senior executive departure – this time Chief People Officer, Lorraine Murphy.

The banking group announced to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) today that Murphy had decided to leave the organisation after having joined NAB in March, 2016.

It said that NAB’s current Customer Executive Regional and Agribusiness, former Westpac executive, Julie Rynski would assume the role while a global search was undertaken for a permanent replacement.

Confirming the departure, NAB acting chief executive and chairman successor, Philip Chronican said Murphy had led the People function through a challenging period and brought a useful external perspective on changing bank culture.

Murphy said she had enjoyed her time at NAB and had reached “a useful point of reflection to consider other roles”.

“It is important for the incoming chief executive to have members of their leadership team who are utterly committed to the coming years,” she said.
