Morningstar appoints new equity research director
Research and ratings house, Morningstar Australasia, has appointed a new director of equity research for Australia and New Zealand.
The company announced today that Carolyn Holmes had been appointed to the Sydney-based position and would lead a team of 20 analysts and oversee Morningstar's Australian and New Zealand equity research, including the development of institutional-quality company reports, analyst notes, pick lists, and industry and sector research.
Holmes will report to Morningstar's Global Head of Equity Research, Michael Holt.
The company also announced that Joel Bloomer, formerly Morningstar Head of Equity Research, Asia-Pacific, had taken on a new role as Head of Discretionary Equity Strategies in Morningstar's Sydney-based investment management team.
Bloomer reports to Andrew Lill, Morningstar Investment Management chief investment officer, Asia-Pacific.
Holmes was previously employed at JP Morgan.
