MetLife Australia has appointed seven people to key relationship management and senior underwriting roles.

Richard Holt, previously head of sales development at MetLife, would join the retail team as head of service delivery.

Rachel Towell would join the insurer as state manager of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, and Stuart White would join as the state manager for Queensland.

Simon Dent has been appointed as national retail underwriting manager for NSW and QLD and Adrian Young has been appointed to the same position for Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

Fiona Quinn and Hadley Fredericks would join as senior retail underwriters with experience within the firm and at Macquarie Life and AMP, respectively.

Head of retail sales, Matt Lippiatt, said the appointments would significantly strengthen MetLife’s capabilities.

Lippiatt said Holt’s role would deliver a consistent end-to-end adviser experience while Towell and White’s experience and insights would enable the insurer to build on relationships with licensees and advisers.

“We also know how much advisers value direct access to experienced underwriters who deliver consistent and pragmatic outcomes. Simon, Adrian, Fiona, and Hadley all have proven reputations at blending commercial risk assessment with solid understanding of advisers’ business needs,” he said.
