Lonsec has appointed Charlie Haynes as the new Group chief executive officer (CEO) and Ian Knox as a director of the Board, reflective of the period of growth Lonsec Holdings is experiencing.

Haynes has previously held roles in project management and management consulting firms such as Lloyds, Bankers Trust and Worldgroup. More recently, he was the Australian manager and managing director of the FIS-Software firm, and co-founded the Paragem business in Australia.

Knox has had a career in the financial services industry spanning 40 years, particularly in the funds management and financial planning sectors, and also co-founded Paragem.

Chairman of Lonsec, Jeff Bresnahan said both Haynes and Knox have a strong client and staff focus, and their understanding of all the markets Lonsec operate in would allow for the momentum of the business to continue.

He said they would also allow Lonsec to target potential acquisitions that were compatible with their long-term strategy.

Bresnahan said the appointments spoke favourably on Lonsec’s current marketing positioning and the opportunities available.
