JANA reaches 100-headcount milestone

Superannuation consultancy JANA has announced it has just broken the 100-headcount milestone, with the company supporting year-on-year growth with a 16 per cent increase in staff.

The Melbourne and Sydney-based company now has 74 investment professionals and 26 corporate and support staff, and was expected to announce five more hires within the next few weeks.

JANA currently advised around 100 institutional clients, including corporate, industry and public sector superannuation funds, as well as charities, insurers, foundations and endowment funds.

New hires in the research teams included:

  • Tania Freeman, senior consultant, joined the Private Equity Research team from NSW Treasury Corporation (TCorp) where she covered private equity and infrastructure;
  • Jennifer Cowan, senior consultant, joined JANA’s Property Research team from First State Super where she covered property and StatePlus where she had responsibility for unlisted real estate and infrastructure sectors;
  • Laura Purbrick, senior consultant, had joined JANA from ANZ Private Bank where she held the role of director of the Private Advisory Group Victoria;
  • Bharat Satghare, consultant, also joins JANA’s Infrastructure Research team;
  • Lin Ngin, consultant, joined the Australasian Research Equities team;
  • Daniel Kisnorbo, consultant, joined the Global Equities Research team;
  • Neil Maines, consultant, also joined JANA’s Portfolio Construction and Retirement Strategies Research teams.

They had also added a number of other key roles:

  • Lauren O’Neill, head of client development, who would be responsible for driving business growth and marketing, and she joined from LCP (UK Partnership firm);
  • John Montague, head of operations, joined JANA from his role as general manager at Super SA;
  • Erika Jordan, manager, operational consulting, would be growing JANA’s operational due diligence capabilities;
  • Michael Karagianis, senior consultant, retail partnerships, had joined JANA’s retail business.

Finally, they had added analysts Lucie Bielczykova, Siddharth Raghuraman, Evan Klironomos, Marc Wong, Sam Kazacos and Michael Chou.
