Herbert Smith Freehills appoints super expert
Herbert Smith Freehills has appointed Ruth Stringer to its Australian financial services team in Sydney.
Stringer had originally joined the firm as a consultant and was a financial services lawyer with expertise in superannuation, funds management, life insurance, and financial planning.
She was also a member of the Comprehensive Income Products for Retirement (CIPR) Framework Advisory Group, which advised the Federal Treasury on aspects of the legislative framework for new retirement income products.
She was most recently a senior specialist in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s (ASIC’s) superannuation team.
Before ASIC she was a partner at King and Wood Mallesons from 2014 to 2019, a partner at Ashurst between 2007 and 2012, and general counsel of MLC before that.
