Andrew Hagger is to leave National Australia Bank (NAB).

Hagger’s departure has been announced as part of a management restructure.

National Australia Bank chief executive, Andrew Thorburn said Hagger would be leaving after 10 years, eight of which were spent on the executive leadership team.

The announcement of Hagger’s departure comes only weeks after a tough grilling during the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.

The management restructure announced by Thorburn sees former NSW Premier, Mike Baird appointed as chief customer officer, Consumer Banking, Rachel Slade appointed as chief customer experience officer, David Gall appointed as chief customer officer, Corporate and Institutional Banking, and Shaun Dooley as chief risk officer.

The announcement said that with the bringing together of the wealth businesses under new MLC chief executive, Geoff Lloyd, in preparation for separation from NAB Hagger believed it was the right time to leave.
