Former UBS small cap managers join Fidante Partners
Former UBS small cap trio, Stephen Wood, Victor Gomes and David Haddad, announced they have joined multi-boutique fund manager, Fidante Partners, to start a new small cap strategy, Eiger Capital, which will manage the Australian Small Companies Fund offering institutional and retail investors access to a portfolio of small cap stocks.
The UBS Australian Small Companies Fund, which was previously run by the trio, delivered returns of 11.6 per cent per annum (net of fees) over seven years.
Wood said that the decision to join Fidante was “a relatively easy one” given Fidante’s support team, size, and track record of creating the right environment for boutiques.
“It is the right cultural fit for us and importantly, Fidante has had outstanding success partnering with leading boutiques in the small cap asset class,” Wood said.
Eiger would be an active boutique Australian equities manager specialising in small companies while employing a high conviction, style-neutral approach to investing.
