Midwinter Financial Advice Software has announced that executive director strategy and advice Matthew Esler has stepped down from his current role and been appointed director of Midwinter Advice Solutions.

The company said Esler will also remain as non-executive director of Midwinter Financial Services.

As a result of the departure, Midwinter have also announced the appointment of Dimitri Diamantes as head of technical services, Peter Burns as head of distribution, and Lew Howard as business development officer.

Burns served as Midwinter's national distribution manager for three years and was previously Advance Asset Management's head of key accounts.

Diamantes was formerly Zurich Australia's head of technical services, and prior to that was AAM's technical analyst. In his new role, he will be responsible for Midwinter's upcoming release of AdviserTECH CPD.

Commenting on Esler's appointment, Midwinter managing director Julian Plummer said the company had been aware of Esler's desire to move into funds management. Plummer added that Esler would continue to be "heavily involved in the strategic and commercial decisions at the board level."
