Elkins to depart CFS
Colonial First State’s (CFS) executive general manager, Linda Elkins is leaving the business.
The Commonwealth Bank today confirmed Elkins departure with Elkins stating she believed now was an appropriate time to leave the business.
Elkins joined CFS in 2010 from Russell Investments and became acting General Manager in May, 2012, and found her self in the spotlight during some of last year’s hearings of the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry.
It is understood that Elkins will be taking up a senior role outside of CFS and in a note to staff today said that since taking a break a few months ago, she had had time to reflect on how CFS had evolved and what she would like to do next.
"This is an important time for the superannuation industry and I am deeply committed to continuing to contribute in the future, drawing on my knowledge, skills and experience over many years. Given the evolving nature of the role, it feels like the right time now for me to explore the next chapter in my career outside the Group."
CFS Investments independent chairman Anne Ward paid tribute to Elkins contribution stating she had shaped CFS to become one of Australia's leading superannuaton businesses.
