Credit Suisse has appointed a new Head of Private Banking Australia.

The company announced this week that it had appointed Alex Wade as successor to Edward Jewell-Tait who has announced his retirement.

Wade will be based in Sydney and report to Credit Suisse Australia chief executive, John Knox along with the company's Head of Private Banking Asia Pacific, Francesco de Ferrari.

The Credit Suisse announced said that in the new role, Wade would help to drive growth of the bank's Australian franchise, building on the success the bank has achieved in delivering products and services to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net worth individual clients in Australia.

Wade is currently the Market Area Head, Australia and Asia Pacific Switzerland for Private Banking Asia Pacific. He has over 15 years' experience in the banking industry in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia.
