AllianceBernstein (AB) has appointed David Blair as a regional director of New South Wales and South Australia in its retail sales team.

Prior to joining AB, Blair was a key account manager at Grant Samuel Funds Management, and, prior to that, he spent nearly six years at Investors Mutual as state manager.

Ben Moore, the firm’s director, Australia client group, said the strong growth AB had experienced in its retail funds and separately managed accounts during the last two years was the catalyst for expanding the team.

“David brings an excellent blend of skills and experience well suited to driving further progress for AB in the Australian market, based on the firm’s global capabilities and its focus on developing solutions appropriate to clients’ needs,” he said.

Blair would share coverage of financial advisers in South Australia with Melbourne-based Stephen Nguyen, who looks after Victoria, Western Australia and Tasmania.
