Charlotte Ward has joined AIA as its new chief people and culture officer, as which she will focus on building people capability and engagement.

Ward would bring 15 years’ experience in human resources and organisation development roles to the position. She has spent the last eight years in charge of BP’s global capability development and prior to that worked with Prudential.

Damien Mu, AIA chief executive said that he was delighted about the support that Ward would provide the insurer’s staff.

“Our people are the ones that live and breathe our purpose to make a difference in people’s lives every day, and ensure we deliver on our promise to our customers and partners. Supporting our people to be their best is a critical responsibility and commitment we must deliver on as an organisation,” he said.

Eleanor Ottaviano, Ward’s predecessor in the role, took a new role at AIA focusing on business transformation as part of a recent agreement with the Commonwealth Bank to acquire CommInsure and Sovereign.
