Agriculture portfolio manager appointed
Warakirri Asset Management has appointed Steve Jarrott as portfolio manager for its agriculture fund.
Launched in May 2019, the Diversified Agriculture Fund owns investment grade Australian agricultural assets for the primary purpose of partnering or leasing to high quality agricultural businesses, the fund said.
The frim said it was targeting investment opportunities across a range of sectors including wine and table grapes, citrus, nuts, berries, summer and tropical fruits, and agricultural infrastructure. It also forecast total net returns within the 10 to 12% range.
Jarrott would be responsible for leading the fund, including supporting further capital raising efforts, strategy refinement and implementation, asset acquisitions and portfolio management.
The firm’s head of cropping and diversified agriculture, Adrian Goonan said: “Steve is an experience portfolio manager, highly skilled in investment strategy and asset allocation, deal origination and negotiations, valuation and analysis and portfolio management”.
Jarrott was most recently a portfolio manager at Westchester – the agriculture investment arm of the US based TIAA-Nuveen Group.
