The Institute of Public Accountants (IPA) has appointed Lielette Calleja as chief accounting technician with the Association of Accounting Technicians, which transitioned to be part of the IPA Group.

Andrew Conway, IPA chief executive officer, said Calleja was highly regarded in the accounting and bookkeeping fields with a long history of advocating for the profession.

“While Ms Calleja runs her own business, All That Counts in Sydney, a leading and award-winning cloud accounting and bookkeeping firm, she will add a strong and credible voice to represent the interests of AAT members,” Conway said.

“Ms Calleja brings over 25 years of experience in the areas of financial accounting, budgeting, bookkeeping, and management accounting.

“Importantly, Ms Calleja will champion the continuous professional development for members, recognising the need for upskilling BAS agents to ensure their skills remain relevant for tomorrow and the years to come.”

Calleja said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of the profession to make a tangible response to the changes coming from client expectations, technology, and regulation. I am thrilled to be part of the solution with the AAT/IPA”.
