Investors will be able to minimise their risk from volatility on the equities markets through a new risk management overlay launched by BNP Paribas Investment Partners Australia.

The tailored solution, developed in collaboration with Mercer Investments, was initially launched late last year in response consumer demand for protection in volatile markets.

"The unique feature of the solution was the creation of customised BNP Paribas equity indices and optimisation techniques to reduce the impact of equity market volatility," the firm said.

"This equity risk management solution is now more broadly available for other investors who are interested in risk management overlay strategies designed to reduce equity volatility in their portfolios."

BNP Paribas Investment Partners Australia Chief Executive Officer David Grybas said, "We are very proud of this collaboration with Mercer Investments and this significant investment is a testament to the solutions-based and client-driven culture of BNP Paribas Investment Partners."

"Going forward, we will continue to innovate and work with our clients to provide even more bespoke solutions aimed at meeting their unique needs," he said.
