New edition of Westpac super booklet
Westpac Financial Planning has released the third edition of its free superannuation booklet, ‘Super Strategies — 17 ways to retire with more’.
The new edition has been updated to incorporate revised tax and interest rates and legislative changes introduced last year in the form of the Simpler Super legislation.
The booklet provides information and useful case studies on common super strategies that both personal and business customers can identify with, according to superannuation and retirement technical specialist Jason Menzies.
“Radical changes introduced to Australia’s super system last year could revolutionise someone’s financial future, but the fact remains that three in every four members say they don’t understand super,” he said.
“Despite the ‘Simpler Super’ tagline, the system remains complex and confusing for many customers — a situation which we hope the new booklet will help to address.”
Menzies said the previous two editions of the Super Strategies booklet “helped about 18,000 members in understanding their super, and in some instances provided the impetus for seeking personalised advice”.
