Morningstar's current CEO to be MD
Investment research provider Morningstar has moved current chief executive officer Anthony Serhan to the position of managing director of research strategy Asia-Pacific for Morningstar's global research group.
He begins his role on April 1.
"His knowledge and experience developing and managing research products and services will be a tremendous asset as we expand our research thought leadership for investors in the Asia-Pacific region," Morningstar chairman and CEO Joe Mansueto said.
Serhan will focus on research and analysis on the Asia-Pacific securities markets, economic and financial trends, and investment themes.
He joined Morningstar in 2003 and has served as CEO of Morningstar Australasia since 2010. He was previously managing director of Ibbotson Associates Australia.
Current global director of equity and corporate credit research Heather Brilliant and current chief operating officer of Morningstar Europe, Mark Roomans, will become co-chief executive officers for Morningstar Australasia in Sydney.
They will manage the business together throughout 2014 and Brilliant will become sole CEO in 2015.
Brilliant spend several years as an equity research analyst for boutique investment firms before joining Morningstar 10 years ago.
Roomans was previously head of new markets, establishing Morningstar's operations in Mexico, Chile, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates. He joined Morningstar 13 years ago.
