Lonsdale Securities(Lonsec) has moved to restructure its research team by reassigning incumbent managed funds research head Grant Kennaway into the role of general manager research.
The group has also appointed a new senior investment analyst for agribusiness, Jim Blackburn, and is in the process of sourcing additional analysts for its property, managed funds and direct equity teams.
Kennaway is to assume responsibility for the Lonsec agribusiness and property research teams, as well as maintaining ultimate responsibility for Lonsec’s managed funds research team.
Lonsec managing director Norman Graham says Kennaway has been elevated to this role to drive the continued development of the Lonsec research offering.
“He will work with the research teams to ensure the continued evolution of Lonsec’s portfolio solutions for clients across managed funds, property, agribusiness and direct equities,” Graham says.
Kennaway joined Lonsec fromHSBC Asset Managementin May 2000, initially as an investment analyst before being appointed head of managed funds research in May 2002.
Blackburn joins Lonsec after extensive experience consulting within agribusiness and aquaculture, and after the additional analysts are sourced will bring the total research team size to 18 research professionals.
Graham says that the increased breadth of Lonsec’s research offering will make the group perfectly placed to provide a complete portfolio solution for financial advisers and their clients.
