Statton Partners is merging with Wilsons Advisory Private Wealth to add to its clients, client assets and advisers to the business.
Wilsons Advisory has a history of over 125 years focused on financial and advisory services with offices across Australia. Meanwhile, Statton Partners was established in 1967 to provide financial and investment advice.
Joining the Wilsons Advisory team in Sydney includes director Stuart Hudson, director and financial adviser Todd Payne, head of client services Dyan Comino, and client relationship associate Annabel White.
Casimir Skillecorn, head of private wealth, said: “Statton Partners has been providing financial and investment advice to individuals and families for more than 50 years and has great alignment to our private wealth service offering.
“This merger is a strong endorsement of the strength of our client service capabilities, operating model, and growing presence. We look forward to our teams coming together and excited about the opportunity to expand our reach and breadth of services to Australia’s high and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices.”
Wilsons has also made two appointments to its private wealth division in James Byrne as head of private wealth in Melbourne and Michael McNair who joins the investment capability team.
Byrne joins from Morgan Stanley where he was most recently the vice president, and previously worked at Canaccord Genuity and Ord Minnett. McNair was previously the executive director of corporate advisory at Evans & Partners and also spent time at Macquarie Group (New York) and JBWere.
Skillecorn commented: “I’m also delighted that James and Michael will be joining our private wealth team. James brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in private wealth management. James will work with our head of Melbourne Ted Richards to further grow and expand our Melbourne capability, in conjunction with his work as an adviser.
“Their leadership and vision will be invaluable as we continue to grow and provide exceptional service to our clients and help our Melbourne team reach new heights.”
The appointments of Byrne and McNair come off the back of a slew of new advisers joining the firm, including Mike Cooney in Sydney; Sean Lyons and Nick Cooper in Melbourne; Will Hanton, Ben Pierce and Hilary Troy in Brisbane; as well as Sam Waldron joining the firm’s investment strategy group.
