CALLING FOR NOMINATIONS

The Women in Financial Services awards celebrate financial services professionals who have delivered excellent performance in their respective fields and contributed to the advancement of women in both their organisations and the industry.

Nominate WIFS 2018

The awards are divided into two groups for achievement and advocacy. 

ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS acknowledge women who have excelled professionally in their fields within financial services. Our expert judging panel will use their considerable industry experience to evaluate what defines ‘performance’ within each award category in this group.

  • Financial Planner of the Year
  • Investment Professional of the Year
  • Superannuation Executive of the Year
  • Funds Management Executive of the Year
  • Life/Risk Insurance Executive of the Year
  • BDM of the Year
  • Marketing/Communications Professional of the Year
  • Innovator of the Year

ADVOCACY AWARDS reward financial services professionals, regardless of gender, who have proactively helped advance women within the industry. They could have, for example, supported women into senior positions or helped create a female-friendly work environment and culture.

  • Pro-bono of the Year
  • Mentor of the Year
  • Employer of the Year
  • Board of the Year
  • Non-executive Director of the Year
  • Advocate of the Year

  We also have two awards that stand above all the categories

  • Rising Star (8 years or less in the industry)
  • Woman of the Year

 

We are aware that women are often the quiet achievers in workplaces. We don’t just want the biggest and brightest advocates nominating, although of course we welcome those candidacies too. We want to be sure that all advocates of women can be acknowledged, no matter how public they make their contributions.

Categories

Financial Planner of the Year

The judges will be looking at performance, contribution and commitment to industry and leadership.

Investment Professional of the Year

Nominees in this category can come from areas as broad as consulting, funds management and superannuation. The judges will be looking at performance and contribution and commitment to the industry.

Superannuation Executive of the Year

This award will recognise an outstanding professional working in the superannuation industry. The judges will be looking at performance and contribution and commitment to the industry.

Funds Management Executive of the Year

We are looking for exceptional female funds management executive in the industry.

The judges will be looking at performance and demonstrated contribution and commitment to the industry.

LIfe/Risk Insurance Executive of the Year

We are looking for exceptional female executive working in the life/risk insurance setor.

The judges will be looking at performance and demonstrated contribution and commitment to the industry.

BDM of the Year

We are looking for exceptional female business development managers working in any sector of the industry, like life insurance, funds management or even technology

The judges will be looking at performance and demonstrated contribution and commitment to the industry.

Marketing/Communications Professional of the Year

This award is calling for nominations from women who have spearheaded a notable marketing, PR or communications campaign for a company, organisation or association in financial services.

The judges will be looking at performance, demonstrated contribution and commitment to the industry, use of marketing/communications to promote the industry

Innovator of the Year

Money Management’s Innovator award is designed to recognise women who have helped drive fundamental changes in the Australian financial services industry whether it be in the platforms space, the delivery of robo advice, planning software or customer relationship management.

The judges will be looking at leadership, ingenuity and creativity of innovation, effectiveness of innovation and impact of innovation on the financial services industry or its clients.

Pro-bono of the Year

This award calls for nominations from women who have completed significant initiatives that have delivered a positive contribution to the community, or provided a positive social benefit over the past 12 months.

The judges will be looking at leadership, effectiveness of pro bono work, commitment to pro bono work, use of pro bono work to advocate for and drive change for women.

Mentor of the Year

This award recognises talented managers within organisations who have actively and successfully shaped the careers of others within the Australian financial services industry. Any team leader is eligible for this award.

Judges will be looking at leadership in the financial services industry, proactive commitment to mentoring women and effectiveness of mentoring

Employer of the Year

This award aims to recognise those companies that have proactively sought to achieve diversity and gender balance in the workplace. 

The judges will be looking for proactive commitment and innovation in achieving diversity and gender equity in their business, commitment to both recruiting and advancing women to senior positions, commitment and innovation in creating a flexible workplace for women.

Board of the Year

The judges will be looking for  a board that has demonstrated leadership in and commitment to advancing women to executive and board positions as well as commitment to overseeing a gender equitable company

Non-executive Director of the Year

This award acknowledges someone whose considerable experience and qualification as a board member provides a strong example of the benefit of the inclusion of women on boards.

The judges will be looking for demonstrable contribution to advancing women to executive positions within the board environment. 

Advocate of the Year

This award acknowledges someone who may not have advocated the advancement of women in a single tangible way as in the above awards, but has done so consistently and effectively in multiple or less obvious ways.

Judges will be looking for someone who is proactively championing the advancement of women within the industry, whether that is within their organisation or in financial services broadly. 

Rising Star

The Rising Star Award is open to all women who are in their first five years of working within the financial services industry.

The judges will make a decision based on the nominee's performance, achievement, and commitment to both their career within financial services and clients thus far.

Woman of the Year

The Woman of the Year award will recognise an inspiring female leader in the financial services industry who has challenged, influenced or even changed the culture of this sector.

All nominations from the other categories are considered for this award in addition to open nominations. The judges also have the discretion to consider any women that may not have been nominated but that they feel are worthy of the title.

The judges will be looking for a woman who has excelled throughout her career in terms of performance. She will have demonstrated leadership, shown strong commitment to the industry, and actively fought for the advancement of women within the financial services.
