State Street appoints head of SPDR ETFs

State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) will look to drive the success of its SPDR ETF business in Australia with the appointment of former BT Financial national partnership manager, Meaghan Victor to the position of head of SPDR ETFs, Australia.

Victor has held various leadership roles at BT Financial since 2015, and has also held business development and advisory positions with Colonial First State (CFS) the Australian Financial Services Group, Fidelity Investments, and KBC Asset Management.

Commenting on her appoint to the role, global co-head of SPDR ETFs, Rory Tobin said Victor would help drive new product offerings for SSGA funds.

“The depth of experience Meaghan brings to this role will allow SSGA to build on the continued success of the SPDR ETF business in Australia,” he said.

“Appointing Meaghan to lead our Australian ETF business advances our goals of having a strong global leadership team in place.”

SSGA has 16 SPDR ETFs in Australia, including the SPDR S&P/ASX 200 ETF.

According to FE Analytics, the SPDR S&P Global Divided Fund had annual one year return of 5.58 per cent at last month ahead, behind a benchmark of 11.14 per cent.
