Folkestone appoints experienced BDM
Folkestone Funds Management has expanded its Australian distribution team with an eye to the self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) sector.
The company announced this week it had appointed former Hunter Hall staffer, Monica Hood as business development manager.
It said Hood had joined the distribution team with specific emphasis on growing Folkestone’s distribution network and servicing the needs of research houses, financial planning firms, master fund/wrap providers, and SMSFs.
Commenting on the appointment, Folkestone head of funds management, Adrian Harrington said that with the firm’s growing platform of listed and unlisted real estate funds, it was important it had an experienced team servicing its existing clients and expanding its distribution network.
“Given the current low interest rate environment, we continue to see growing investor interest in real estate funds, especially from SMSFs that are looking for reliable income streams,” he said.
