Research and ratings house, Lonsec has awarded a ‘recommended’ rating for BetaShares’ Managed Risk Global Share Fund (WRLD).

Lonsec said that WRLD allowed investors exposure to a risk managed portfolio consisting of at least 1,500 of the largest companies listed on the stock exchanges of the world’s major developed economies.

Others strengths of WRLD included exposure to the global equities market in a risk controlled manner, its risk management strategy and the strong track record for the underlying funds used to obtain exposure.

BetaShares’ managing director, Alex Vynokur, said: “In our unpredictable global environment, the benefits of risk management, reduced volatility and limited drawdowns, are clear”.

“We are pleased to see our managed risk strategy recognised by Lonsec for providing a prudent way to access global equities.

“This strategy has particular appeal for SMSFs and baby boomers – groups who are wanting global equity exposure, but need to balance this against the level of risk they are willing to take in their investments.”
