Well-known financial services academic, Deborah Ralston, has joined the board of the SMSF Association.

Ralston, who was an executive director of the Australian centre for Financial Studies between 2009 and 2015, will join the SMSF Association board effect from 1 July, 2016.

Announcing the board appointment, SMSF Association chairman, Andrew Gale, said Ralston's extensive background in financial services, public policy, academia and research would bring further depth to the board.
