The SMSF Association has announced a partnership with stockbroking and wealth management company, Morgans Financial Limited, to help improve professional standards in the SMSF sector by providing training opportunities for its 500 authorised representatives.

Under the terms of the agreement, Morgans' advisers will be offered the chance to participate in either the SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSA) Pathway or the SMSF Practitioner (SSP) Pathway programmes as well as at the SMSF Association National and State Technical conferences.

One of the main goals of the partnership is to provide the authorised representatives with access to a range of education, training and accreditation offerings on SMSFs.

According to SMSFA chief executive/managing director, Andrea Slattery, the partnership will also ensure Morgans is prepared to "invest resources" and that its advisers "have the expertise to be able to better service their SMSF clients".

"With the SMSF sector growing rapidly, we believe this agreement is a natural progression for those Morgans advisers wishing to improve their knowledge and professionalism," she said.

Morgans currently has more than 300,000 clients, 500 authorised representatives and 850 staff and operates from 60 offices in all states and territories.
