QBE makes key board appointment
QBE Insurance Limited has added the former chief operating officer of its European operations, Kathryn Lisson, to its board.
Lisson has been appointed as a non-executive director effect from 1 September.
Lisson recently retired as a partner of Ernst & Young LLP where she led the firm's Canadian Insurance Advisory Practice and until 2011 was COO for QBE European Operations in London.
QBE chairman, Marty Becker, said he believed the board would benefit from Lisson's experience gained through many years in senior executive and advisory roles across the financial services sector, including global insurers and banks in North America and Europe.
He said that drawing on her technology expertise, Lisson had agreed to chair a newly-formed operations and technology committee, which would support the board in monitoring QBE's evolving digitisation and information technology strategy.
