New CEO for Suncorp named

Suncorp has announced the appointment of a new chief executive succeeding Patrick Snowball in the role.

The company announced to that the current managing director and chief executive of GPT, Michael Cameron, would take up the role with a start date in October.

Suncorp chairman, Ziggy Switkowski, pointed to Cameron's financial services background having held roles at St George Bank, the Commonwealth Bank and MLC.

Cameron has been a non-executive director at Suncorp since April, 2012.

Snowball will step down as CEO in October and return to the United Kingdom.
