Commbank recruits Lewin to boards

The Commonwealth Bank has announced a key appointment to a number of investment committees within its business.

The big banking group announced that former UBS Wealth Management Australia chief executive, Liz Lewin had been appointed an Independent Director of Colonial First State Investments Limited, Avanteos Investments Limited and Colonial Mutual Superannuation Pty Ltd, and as Chair of the boards' Investment Committees.

The announcement said that Lewin (nee Cacciottolo) had strong investment credentials and extensive experience both as a director and as a business leader.

The announcement said Lewin had more than 25 years international experience in financial services across investment banking, wealth management and private banking with her career spanning 21 years at UBS, including as Chief Executive Officer of UBS Wealth Management Australia from 2005 to 2009 and Senior Advisor to UBS from 2009 to 2013.

The announcement also noted that Lewin was a Trustee Director for The Australian Catholic Superannuation & Retirement Fund.

It said Lewin's appointment increased the number of independent directors on the Commonwealth Bank Wealth Management Registrable Superannuation Entity (RSE) boards from three to four, and the total number of directors from five to six.
