AMP Capital has continued to build its Australian equities business with the appointment of two portfolio managers and an analyst.

The appointments follow the company having repositioned its Australian Equities business in October to focus on areas where there it believes there exists long-term client demand.

It said Jason Davis had been appointed Co-Portfolio Manager, Systematic, working alongside Co-Portfolio Manager Genevieve Murray, who is also AMP Capital Head of Australian Equities, while Matthew Griffin would be joining the company as a CO-Portfolio Manager, Small Caps, working alongside Phillip Hudak.

The company said that, as well, Marco Coreia had been recruited as an Equity Income Analyst working alongside Portfolio Managers, Equity Income, Tom Young and Dermot Ryan.

It said Davis had more than 25 years’ investment experience and an extensive background in Australian equities investing and systematic research techniques and was most recently a Director at Strategic Income and, prior to that, Head of Portfolio Management and Director at Ankura Capital.

The announcement said Griffin was most recently employed at IFM Investors, prior to which he was with Macquarie Funds Group while Correia was previously with Rothschild as an Investment Banking Analyst.
