ICA president turned strategic consultant
AdviserLogic Group has announced the appointment of former Institute of Chartered Accountants president, David Smith, as a consultant to the group, where he will also be promoted to the board as non-executive chairman in due course.
Smith takes up this position off the back of a long history in software development, financial services and accounting, including his former position of president of the ICA.
He is currently assisting a number of companies in a consultant capacity and was the former managing partner of PKF (now BDO) and an investor in a life/risk licensee now owned by Macquarie Group.
AdviserLogic head of product development, Daniel Gara, said the firm was pleased to welcome Smith, whose multiple areas of expertise would help propel the company through navigating the market as an emerging firm.
"A steady and experienced hand will be critical to AdviserLogic Group as we take advantage of the restructuring, disruption and aggregation that financial services and accounting are experiencing at present," Gara said.
"You need deep market knowledge to navigate these kind of changes; we're honoured that a person of David's calibre has agreed to take on this very important role."
