A new Meet the Mentors initiative to be introduced at the Association of Financial Advisers’ (AFA) National Adviser Conference next week will offer a forum for practical and professional advice from AFA members, according to national vice president, Michael Nowak.

AFA long-standing members including Russell Collins OAM, Godfrey Phillips, Paul Kearney and Peter Graham will be amongst those participation in the mentor-relationship program, which would allow for attendees to choose the format of sessions with their mentor.

Commenting on the introduction of the program, Nowak, who will also chair the conference, said mentors were looking forward to the opportunity to provide feedback on the profession.

“Mentors have so much to offer in terms of practical advice and they have welcomed this opportunity to give back,” he said.

“It may be as simple as the mentor offering an empathetic ear, or as complicated as discussing a complex business problem.

“Advisers and mentors can also decide whether or not they would like to continue the mentoring relationship after Conference.”

The AFA National Adviser Conference will take place on the Gold Coast next week.
