The likelihood of swift recovery and successful return to work is much higher with early access to rehabilitation and support. The sooner a client seeks assistance, the higher the chance of a successful outcome.

Returning to work can be one of the best forms of treatment. AIA Australia focuses on early intervention and occupational rehabilitation to help your client return to work and wellness after illness or injury. Research from the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine highlights that employees who return to work within 20 days have a far greater chance of returning permanently.[1]

We understand every rehabilitation situation differs based on your client’s medical situation, workplace responsibilities and personal circumstances. Our holistic programs safely assist employees back to work in a timeframe to suit their recovery. If your client cannot return to their usual job, we help identify alternative occupations and training opportunities.

For your client’s best chance of better health outcomes, we encourage early claim lodgement. At AIA Australia we have one of the largest and most experienced teams of health professionals in the life insurance industry. Our Return to Work (RTW) rate increased from 80% in 2014 to 83% in 2016, significantly higher than the industry rate which increased from 54% to 58.62%.[2]

We make things easy so your client is free to focus on recovery, not the claims process. One way we do this is to provide multiple ways to claim: eClaims, Teleclaims and the recently launched Claims on Wheels pilot in Victoria. (Through this new service, clients are given a personal Claims Consultant to help them through the claims process. If Claims on Wheels is successful, it will be rolled out across Australia.)

Pina Sciarrone, AIA Australia’s Chief Retail Insurance Officer, said “We understand the financial and emotional stress created for clients and their families through illness. The last thing they want to worry about is more paperwork! So we’re finding ways to help ease that burden for your clients.”

We partner with you to provide this extra level of service to get your clients back to work and wellness.
