MFAA expels member

Phil Naylor

The Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) has expelled a member from ACT for misconduct.

The MFAA Disciplinary Tribunal has determined that Nadia Pessarossi signed a statutory declaration using her former employer’s signature without his consent, which constitutes misconduct under the MFAA Code of Practice.

MFAA chief executive officer Phil Naylor said the decision was made as part of the association’s commitment to improving standards and integrity within the industry.

“We are determined to rid the industry of unscrupulous brokers. If someone believes a member has done the wrong thing, we encourage them to report it. Any code breach that merits an investigation is very serious and will be treated as such,” Naylor said.

“By stamping out these inappropriate practices in our industry, consumers can borrow with confidence.”
