Perennial Investment Partners has appointed Clay Carter as a senior portfolio manager in its global equities boutique.

Carter will assume responsibility for the UK component of Perennial’s global equities portfolio, in line with the group’s multi-regional investment approach.

The other senior portfolio managers are Scott King on North American equities, Alistair Macdonald on European equities and Diane Lin on Asian and Japanese shares.

Carter was previously a founding member of boutique firm PM Capital, and has held senior portfolio management positions at AMP and QBE.

Perennial has also appointed Charles Stodart as an analyst on its Asia and Japan investment team. Stodart has been with Perennial for five years, most recently analysing the UK and European equities markets.

These appointments follow Timothy Mak’s appointment to the Perennial Asian investment team earlier this year. He was recruited from the Reserve Bank of Australia, where he was a senior analyst.
